Answers to common questions about Earsight microphones: recorder compatibility (Zoom, Tascam, MixPre), shipping, warranty, returns, and sound libraries.
All microphones sold on Immersive Soundscapes are handcrafted in France by Philippe Renneville. Each unit is individually assembled, soldered, and tested to ensure impeccable audio quality and a very low noise floor, meeting the high standards of professional field recording.
Absolutely. All Earsight microphones come with a 2-year international warranty covering manufacturing defects and malfunctions under normal use.
Yes — contact me and I can arrange fast worldwide shipping with DHL or UPS. Availability depends on my schedule and the current workload in the workshop.
Yes, I ship worldwide. Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout based on your delivery address.
Note for non-EU customers: customs duties or import taxes may apply upon arrival and are the responsibility of the buyer.
Note for US customers: import rules change frequently at the moment, and customs clearance can take longer than usual — thank you for your patience.

Every microphone is assembled and tested to order in my workshop, then shipped within 1 to 5 business days. You’ll be notified by email when your order ships. If a product requires custom work, it may take slightly longer — I’ll let you know.

What kind of sounds do you offer?
Immersive Soundscapes specializes in high-fidelity field recordings: natural ambiences, urban soundscapes, and immersive textures. I prioritize spatial quality — wide stereo, binaural, or Ambisonic depending on the pack.
Can I use these sounds in commercial projects?
Yes. Once purchased (or downloaded, for the free packs), the sounds are royalty-free.
- Allowed: films, video games, podcasts, YouTube videos, art installations.
- Not allowed: reselling or redistributing the raw files as they are (e.g. uploading them to another stock audio site).
What audio formats are provided?
Most sounds are delivered in 24-bit WAV at 48 kHz or 96 kHz for maximum flexibility in post-production.
Yes — I can build a microphone tailored to your needs. Don’t hesitate to contact me and describe what you’d like to record.
Yes, but the connection type varies:
3.5mm Input (PIP): Most of my mics run on Plug-in Power (PIP). They are directly compatible with handheld recorders (Zoom H1n, H5, Sony PCM-A10, etc.) via the 3.5 mm jack.
XLR Input: To use them with professional recorders (Sound Devices MixPre, Zoom F3/F6), you’ll need my PIP to XLR adapter (available in the shop). It converts 48 V phantom power into the correct voltage for Earsight capsules.
I handle the entire design of the microphones, from the choice of
components: capsules, connectors, cables, electronic components. To the
actual design of the microphone shell.
With a mechanical engineering degree, I’m skilled in designing and
high-quality 3D printing tools. The strength of the parts is taken into
account in the design to guarantee long-term robustness.
Finally, the ergonomics of the microphones have been thought out and
optimized after many hours of testing in the field. The design will also
evolve as a result of your feedback, which I’m impatiently awaiting.
The result obtained is nothing without a meticulous choice of capsules
following numerous comparisons, and finally, the optimization of the
electronics.
Earsight microphones are maintenance-free, but for reasons of durability,
it’s best to follow these instructions.
Dry the microphone after use if it has been in contact with rain.
Store the cable correctly and avoid bending it at right angles.
Always connect and disconnect microphones by holding the connector,
not the cable.
This is usually caused by grounding issues or electromagnetic interference (EMI). It’s rare with Earsight mics, as the capsules are almost insensitive to interference, but if it happens:
If the problem persists, contact me and I’ll help you troubleshoot.

When ordering microphones with XLR connectors, you can choose
between the normal and low-profile versions.
Low profile means that the cable exits sideways from the XLR connector,
saving space and avoiding damage to the cable when using your recorder
in a bag. This has no effect on the sound.
