The Earsight Thumb BBG Cardio combines my cable-free cardioid Thumb with compatibility for the Rycote Baby Ball Gag (BBG) windshield, giving you a directional, wind-protected microphone that plugs straight into an XLR input.
Two of them make a compact X/Y or ORTF rig that shrugs off wind — ideal for focused outdoor recording where gusts would ruin an unprotected capsule. The cardioid capsules offer 22 dBA self-noise and −37 dB sensitivity.
Powered by 48V phantom, hand-assembled and tested in my workshop in Nantes, France.
