The Earsight Cardioid is a matched pair of directional microphones for recordists who want to frame their sound. Its cardioid pattern rejects rear noise and lets you focus on your subject — perfect for X/Y and ORTF stereo techniques, instruments, voice and directional ambience work.
The capsules offer 22 dBA self-noise and −37 dB sensitivity, hand-matched in my workshop in Nantes, France, so both channels behave identically across the frequency range.
Available with XLR connectors (48V phantom power) or 3.5 mm mini-jack on plug-in power. **PIP note:** your recorder must deliver at least 2V; choose the highest voltage available (up to 10V) for best headroom, or use my PIP/XLR adapter to run the mini-jack version at a full 10V on any XLR recorder.
