The Earsight ORTF brings the classic ORTF stereo technique — two cardioids at 110°, 17 cm apart — to your compact recorder. It mounts directly onto the Tascam FR-AV2, Zoom F3 and Sound Devices MixPre, giving you a wide, natural stereo image with excellent mono compatibility, without carrying a stereo bar and stands.
Its matched cardioid capsules (22 dBA self-noise, −37 dB sensitivity) reject sound from the rear, which makes the ORTF ideal for focusing on a scene — a stream, birdsong, a street performance — while keeping a realistic sense of space.
Powered by 48V phantom via your recorder’s XLR inputs. Designed, 3D-printed and hand-assembled in my workshop in Nantes, France, tested and matched before shipping.
