Ultra-compact 3D microphones that let you record binaural with total discretion — high quality, very low self-noise (14 dB) and high sensitivity, among the quietest binaural mics on the market at an unbeatable price.

They take the place of your ears, so you hear back exactly what you heard live. The binaural effect comes from the shape of your own head — that's what makes it truly binaural; two mics on a fake ear-shaped tube never sound the same. You have to hear it to believe it: the 3D effect is stunning. And because they look just like earphones, they draw no attention — you can record in the most unlikely places, and they follow you everywhere. The ear-shells are designed specifically for Earsight capsules and 3D-printed in reinforced carbon filament for a light, tough setup.

Good to know: live monitoring isn't possible by design — I keep the mics small and avoid any colouration from placing a listening capsule next to the recording capsule, so your sound stays perfectly clean. The shells are shaped to keep your hearing open and avoid that boomy, sealed-ear sensation.

Two versions to choose from

• Mini-jack pair (PIP): for recorders with plug-in / PIP power — Olympus LS series, Tascam DR-100 mkIII, Sony PCM-D50/D100 and many mirrorless/DSLR cameras.
• XLR pair (48V): for any recorder with 48V phantom power. The XLR body adapts the voltage to the capsule, and each mic can also be used on its own as a lavalier.

In the box

• Three pairs of silicone tips (S, M, L) to fit your ears
• One clip for your clothing so you can turn your head freely on a slack cable

Optional

• Two windshields for moderate outdoor wind — usable like an Earsight Standard A/B pair for ambience (too large for in-ear recording)
• Two clips to use the mics as lavaliers or as a standard omnidirectional stereo pair
